The Colonial Viper MKII, is Moebius' first Battlestar Galactica kit release.

Designed to operate in both space and atmospheric conditions, the Viper is the Colonial Fleet's primary Space Superiority Fighter/Attack craft.

The Viper MKII was originally introduced in Colonial service shortly before the outbreak of the 1st Cylon War. The MKII remained in service after the end of the conflict, but was subsequently superseded by newer models.

The Viper MKII is molded in 1/32 scale.

4 Stars Excellent model kit, BUT....
by Chris Gagnon from Fredericksburg, Va. on Dec 31, 2010
The decals are terrible. Not in appearance, but in material. The material is rather thick and brittle,so you better have a lot of micro-sol around, or like jigsaw puzzles. Also the clear border is really wide on these, so you will be doing some trimming arouns the engine cutouts and the like. The rest of the model is really outstanding though, with good detail and crisp lines, with thoughtful sprue positions that are not always in an area visible when assembled.

5 Stars Highly recommended: the best version
by Borja Cabellos from Madrid, España on Dec 7, 2010
Despite not being a complex model in terms of its construction, is a fantastic model. The material is sturdy, excellent. Clear and great detail. All the pieces fit together easily and accurately. If you also join the photo-etch kit, the detail level and the possibilities grow exponentially. Especially the cockpit. The only failure that can be argued, is the pilot figure. Still, it is a great buy, and extremely realistic model.

5 Stars An Excellent Model
by Patrick Riley from Midvale, UT USA on Apr 23, 2010
This Viper was one I'd looked forward to from the moment it was announced. The preview pics shown on the web didn't do it justice. It is a superbly engineered model that will almost snap together. Seams are minimal. Detail is excellent. Well worth the price.

5 Stars Viper MK2 In box Review.
by Trevor Bennett from Detroit Michigan on Mar 31, 2010
Hey all. I just got my Viper MK2 and was so Happy when I cracked the box I just had to share. ( this is my first review so please be kind in your comments :)) The Box itself is really neat. Excellent graphics and a Nice Hanger scene printed on the back, but seems to be in Photo reverse ( signs are all backwards??). Cover will definitely grab you and even hints at a Galactica, Cylon Centurion and the Grail of BSG modeling, a Viper MK7.( I can't wait!). The Instructions are a Marvel in themselves. Printed in full color with CG stills of the "Real" Aircraft, along with Drawn references and Photos of the assembly steps. Decals are in Register, Printed tightly to the carrier film ( i.e. No extra film at the edges) and give you options for Decaling the stripes or Painting them in the form of separate Colonial Roundels, but sadly only to AC options, both from the Galactica. I was kinda hoping for a William "Husker" Adama plaque for under the Canopy rail and or some other squadrons and Ships but I'm sure some aftermarket company will fix this. Now to the Kit itself. There are 3 poly bags containing the parts .Everything is cast Crisply and cleanly ( with a little flash as to be expected from short run kits) in White Plastic. Overall nice casting but I have to wonder why the reaction thrusters in the nose and underside are decals and not cast details? These will be drilled out and corrected in my kit but would make for a nicer "out of Box" kit of they were cast in. The Canopy and Stand are cast in Crystal clear styrene ( though I have to wonder why detailing on the stand base shows North and South America, Hawaii and Australia?). Included is a Resin pilot Figure. This is a Crisply cast Male pilot with helmet ( the visor is solid but a little surgery could fix that.). All in all I am Looking forward to building this, but might hold off painting to see if Decal options open up in the near future. Enjoy ( i know I will).
